About Brewhaha

Brewhaha Roasters is a small-batch, artisan coffee roaster that provides customized single-origin coffees and blends. We are dedicated to providing the freshest ethically sourced coffee roasts and nurturing the communities we serve. We use superior beans grown by farmers who practice sustainable farming methods and provide fair and healthy conditions for their workers.

Brewhaha Roasters is owned by three fellas whose love of good coffee, friendship, and the perfect blend, has brought them together. Matt Snow, Pat Mahoney, and Aaron Holverson live in the beautiful River Valley area in South Central Wisconsin.

HOW IT ALL BEGAN...

In 2012, Matt Snow started roasting small batches for himself and his friends in his garage and before he knew it Brewhaha Roasters was born. Our very humble beginnings and success are due largely in part to a great local community, friends, and family. Providing coffee as a fundraiser for Matt’s son’s 5th-grade overnight trip seemed to be the tipping point as many people then started to ask Hometown Supermarket, Spring Green’s local grocery store, where they could find it?

As Brewhaha Roasters started to grow, Pat Mahoney joined the team in 2016.  Pat has been instrumental in getting our product out to new stores as well as its overall promotion.

As 2017 began, it was time to invest in bigger equipment and roasting facilities. With even more demand and more moving parts, Aaron Holverson was a natural fit and has rounded out our team.

In addition to being coffee roasters, we are also educators, coaches, technology consultants, and band directors...creating a diverse blend in life and roasting.

We toast our local roast to each of you, from Spring Green, Wisconsin.

FOUNDER & ROASTER

MATT SNOW

Brewhaha Coffee Roasters founder Matt Snow got into coffee roasting a bit by accident when a family friend introduced him to it. Once Matt realized how much better freshly roasted coffee beans could be, he was hooked. He started with a small sample roaster and roasted coffee each night for the next morning.

A musician by trade, Matt can play almost any instrument and loves to sing. He really enjoys playing golf, and currently coaches High School Golf in the spring. He teaches High School Band and has a MA in European History. He also enjoys reading and has done some freelance writing.

SALES & FINANCE

PAT MAHONEY

Pat Mahoney discovered his entrepreneurial itch as a kid while watching his dad run a bar in his hometown. Pat was in the same friend circle as founder Matt Snow, and when he discovered Matt was looking to expand distribution, he jumped at the chance to join the Brewhaha Roaster bandwagon.

Pat was a business education teacher for 10 years before staying home to raise kids. He continues to use his business skills as the treasurer of his church. He also has an affinity for athletics. He was a wrestling coach at River Valley High School for 22 years. He coached his sons’ football, wrestling, and baseball youth teams. He runs his Home Talent baseball team. And Pat is an avid golfer, participating in a summer golf league. He and his wife have been married for 25 years.

TECH & MARKETING

AARON HOLVERSON

Aaron Holverson smelled Brewhaha coffee before he tasted it! Living across the street from founder Matt Snow, Aaron could smell when the roaster was running and would wander over to offer Matt some help. This led to building their first roastery and official coffee roaster.

Aaron has an information technology background and is an IT educator. His love of fixing and troubleshooting makes him the resident tinkerer at Brewhaha. Aaron loves traveling, spending time outdoors, running, hiking, and rock climbing.

SERVE THE COMMUNITY

DO WHAT'S RIGHT, EVEN WHEN IT'S NOT EASY / WHEN NO ONE'S LOOKING

It goes beyond giving back to our communities. Brewhaha uses superior beans grown by farmers who practice sustainable farming methods and provide fair and healthy conditions for their workers.

So many small coffee farmers in the world cannot afford to join the larger coops to get organic and fair trade certification. The buyers we work with strive to pay well above the Fair Trade minimums for each farmer’s crop to ensure small, local farmers are rewarded for their commitment to producing good, clean coffee and enriching their communities.
